A modest tribute to “Harry Potter”
I’ve saw the first ”Harry Potter” years back, “The Half-Blood Prince” and was completely unimpressed. The effects are badly made, in comparison with the modern movies. The way it is filmed and I could go on and on…
However, at the insistence of friends, I start watching all of them, in the order the author intended, earlier this year.
For me ”Harry Potter” is not about the budget, director anymore. As a matter of fact, I have no idea who directed it, or what it cost!
Bring to mind the past, first encounter with your class mates, first friends that you thought they will last forever, and now you wonder where they are, first nemesis, first emotions, first flirt, first kiss, the first time you asked a girl for a prom, or the first time you’ve been asked, first time you had to share the love for the same person with your best friend, first time you learned respect thought fear and/ or admiration. The first departure, the first cry you had together, first shared fears and nightmares! Innocence!
And lets face it, we all had a Voldemort in our lives. For me, it was the math teacher!
We all lived that, and it is great to have 3 characters reminding us we were once kids, that our biggest worries were what spell should we use today.
We don’t need a magic school, nor a wand to create it! We all have it within, and constantly surrounding us, yet isn’t it beautiful that JK Rowling brought it out, reminded us that it is never lost, perhaps forgotten!
